Your Student GWorld Card
Welcome to GW! All registered undergraduate, graduate, non-degree, consortium, and exchange students are eligible to receive GWorld cards.
Student GWorld cards are mobile!
Store your GWorld Card on your mobile device. Note: If you do not have an eligible mobile device, you will be issued a physical card.
New, First-time Students
You can set-up your GWorld Card once you have registered for at least one course. New student cards are available approximately one month prior to the start of classes. We do recommend you set-up your card at least one week before you arrive on campus.
Online & Off Campus Students
(with no in person classes)
You can request either a Mobile Card or a Physical GWorld Card be mailed to you for identification purposes. Mailed GWorld Cards do not provide any access to on-campus facilities. To request your card, submit your photo online. In the pick-up instructions, input the address you would like your card shipped.
How to Get Your Student GWorld Card
Follow these three steps.
- Step 1: Take Your Photo and Verify Your Identity
Pick one of these two options to start the set-up process.
Option A: Upload Your Photo
This is the easiest way to set-up your GWorld Mobile Card .
Follow the Photo Upload Instructions
It will take up to two business days for the GWorld team to review your photo. You will receive an email confirmation when your photo has been approved. To set-up a GWorld Mobile card proceed to Step 2. Or visit the GWorld Office to receive your Physical GWorld Card.
Option B: Come to the GWorld Office to Have Your Photo Taken
Come to the GWorld Office and bring your US government issued photo ID (ie: driver's license, passport, US visa, military ID, etc.). The GWorld Team will assist you in obtaining your GWorld Mobile Card or print you a physical card.
- Step 2: Download the GET Mobile app
To set-up your GWorld Mobile Card and manage your card accounts, you will need the GET Mobile app.
Instructions are the same for both Apple and Android devices:
- From the list of institutions, select George Washington University
- Do not select the other GW option.
- Login with your GW UserID and password.
- If successful, your name, photo, and George Washington University will appear at the top of the GET screen.
- From the list of institutions, select George Washington University
- Step 3: Complete Your GWorld Mobile Card Set-up
Click on the option to add your card to your Apple Wallet or Android phone. You will receive confirmation when your mobile card is successfully added. Congratulations! You can now start using your GWorld Mobile Card!
Having trouble setting up your mobile card: follow the more detailed set-up instructions based on your mobile device. Or contact the GWorld Office for assistance.
- VSTC Students who prefer a physical GWorld Card
If you are a member of the GW Virginia Science and Technology Campus community and cannot come to the Foggy Bottom GWorld Card Office for a new or replacement physical card, you can request your card to be shipped to the VSTC Campus. To request a card be sent to the VSTC campus, submit your photo online, and in the pick-up instructions, select the "VSTC" option. Cards are sent weekdays and are available within 2-3 business days for pickup at the security desk in Enterprise Hall.
