Account Types
There are three types of accounts that may be available to GWorld card holders, based on your affiliation with GW. They include Campus Cash, Dining Dollars and Meal Plans.
- Campus Cash
The following GWorld card users including, faculty, staff, students, visitors, contractors, UHS and MFA employees, and alumni, have a Campus Cash account that can be activated by depositing money into the account.
Campus Cash can be used to purchase food using your GWorld card instead of a debit or credit at all on-campus GW Dining locations and GWorld dining partners both on- and off-campus. Campus Cash is a dollar to dollar equivalent. One dollar is the equivalent to one Campus Cash dollar. Example: A $5 sandwich at a GW Dining location can be purchased using $5 by tapping your GWorld card and using Campus Cash.
Users must deposit funds via the GET account into the Campus Cash account.
Campus Cash can be used:
- To pay for meal purchases at GW’s on-campus dining locations and off-campus Dining Partners.
- To purchase books, haircuts and other goods and services at on-campus and off-campus vendors who accept GWorld as a form of payment.
- To pay for WEPA kiosk printing. Note: Only physical GWorld cards can be used.
- To pay for parking at GWorld managed parking facilities. For more information visit GW Parking Services.
Campus Cash Advantages
Using Campus Cash allows you to make purchases around campus, including at on-campus dining locations and GW parking.
Campus Cash is safer than carrying cash or credit cards. The photo on your card is used by cashiers to ensure it is you making the purchase. You will not be held liable for any unauthorized charges made on your account.
You cannot spend more than the amount loaded onto your card. You cannot withdraw cash from the card.
Restricted Purchases
Campus Cash may not be used to purchase alcohol, tobacco, or gift cards. GWorld funds can not be used to pay a Student Account eBill (tuition bill).
- Dining Dollars
Dining Dollars are included as part of both the unlimited and block student meal plans and can be used to purchase food at participating on- and off-campus dining locations. Dining Dollars are a dollar-to-dollar equivalent.
- Unused Dining Dollars roll over semester to semester as long as you remain enrolled as a student.
- All Dining Dollars transactions at GW Dining locations are tax-free.
- Dining Dollars are accepted at many off-campus GW Dining Partner locations.
- Check your remaining Dining Dollars balance or add more to your account using the GET Mobile app. Download the GET Mobile Apple app or GET Mobile Android app Store.
- Graduating students have access to GWorld Dining Dollars and/or Campus Cash accounts until approximately one month after the semester they graduated. To maintain access to unspent funds after this date, an Alumni card can be obtained from the GWorld Office.
Restricted Purchases
- All GWorld deposits are final. Refunds cannot be issued for unspent Dining Dollars/Campus Cash nor can you transfer available funds between the two accounts, to another person’s GWorld card or to a student account to pay an e-bill balance.
- Dining Dollars and Campus Cash may not be redeemed for physical cash/money.
- Dining Dollars may not be used to purchase alcohol, tobacco, or gift cards. GWorld funds can not be used to pay a Student Account eBill (tuition bill).
- Meal Plans
GW Dining’s Student Meal Plans are available for purchase by any registered GW student including undergraduates, graduates, law, medical and doctoral students. All undergraduate students living in a GW residence hall are required to purchase a GW Dining Meal Plan.
Faculty and Staff Meal Plans are available each Academic Year (fall & spring semesters).
A Meal Plan is loaded on your GWorld card. A tap of your GWorld card grants you entry into any of the three all-you-care-to-eat on-campus residential dining facilities including Shenkman Hall Dining, Thurston Hall Dining and West Hall’s Pelham Commons Dining. A tap of your card can also be used for a Meal Deal (an entree, side and drink) at eligible on-campus dining locations.
