Affiliate Community Members

As members of our GW Community, alumni, MFA and UHS employees, contractors, and Friends of Foggy Bottom (neighbors) are eligible to use a GWorld Card. Your cards will be physical GWorld cards.

Identify your affiliated role with GW to learn more about the required documentation to bring with you to the GWorld Office to get your first GWorld card.

For community members who already have a GWorld card, this is how you replace a (lost or stolen) card.

Contractors and Visitors

All visitors and contractors must be sponsored by a university department and have a GWID number (G followed by an 8-digit number). If you are a sponsor you need to:

  1. Request a GWID for the visitor or contractor through the Division of IT Support Center. You will receive an email confirmation once the GWid is created.
  2. Email the GWID, name, duration of stay, and necessary card access to [email protected]. If you're requesting cards for more than five people, please include that information in an Excel spreadsheet.
  3. Accompany the visitor or contractor to the GWorld office to help them get their card.
  4. The visitor or contractor must bring a valid U.S. government-issued photo ID or other accepted form of identification outlined in the Get Your Card section.

If you do not follow these steps, the GWorld Office will be unable to issue a card to the visitor or contractor. Contractors and visitors must claim their identity first before coming to the GWorld office for their card.
