Depositing Colonial Cash and Dining Cash is easy and can be done in a variety of ways.

Deposit & Refund Policy

Colonial Cash and Dining Cash may not be redeemed for cash.

All GWorld deposits are final. You cannot receive a refund for unspent Colonial Cash/Dining Cash nor can you transfer funds to another GWorld card.

Colonial Cash and Dining Cash can be used year round and will not expire unless your account remains inactive (no deposits or charges) for a consecutive 36 month period.

Deposit Options

In-Office Deposit

Visit or call the GWorld Office during normal business hours to make a deposit to your GWorld Colonial Cash account.

In Person

If you come to our office (Marvin Center, 800 21st St NW, Suite G05) in person you can use cash, check or a credit or debit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover) to make a deposit. You can also place a request to bill your Student Account.

Over the Phone

If you call us at 202-994-1795 you can use a credit or debit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover) to make a deposit.

Online Deposit

Make a one time or recurring deposit online with a credit or debit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover). 

All online deposits can be managed 24/7 and are secure and fully encrypted. You can set up automatic deposits and securely save your credit card information for your convenience.

Value Transfer Station

Value transfer stations are machines that allow you to make cash deposits directly to your GWorld Colonial Cash account. The machines only accept cash, not checks or credit cards, and do not dispense change.

All deposits are final, non-refundable and non-transferable.

Bill Your Student Account

Funds can be billed or transferred from your Student Account to your GWorld Colonial Cash account. There are several circumstances when this transfer can occur.

Credit Transfers

When your GW Student Account is overpaid and GW owes you money back you can transfer your credit balance to your GWorld card at any time during the semester.

New Bill

You can request that funds be billed to your Student Account and added to your GWorld Colonial Cash account. All new bill requests are processed on a case-by-case basis depending on your Student Account repayment history and the time of year of the request.

Monthly Payment Plan Overpayment

When you include extra Colonial Cash money in your monthly payment plan the GWorld Office is not automatically notified of your pending overpayment. Stop by the GWorld Office to complete a deposit form.

Terms & Conditions

All Student Account billing deposits are final, non-refundable and non-transferable. They must be done in person in the GWorld Office and by the student.

Parents cannot make a Student Account billing deposit for their student under any circumstance.

All Student Account billing deposits are processed on a case-by-case basis.
